Preston, Conn. —
To celebrate the town’s 325th anniversary, residents on Sunday were invited to take a step back in time at one of the oldest homes in Preston.
A garden tea party on the grounds of Roseledge Herb Farm, a 292-year-old homestead on Route 164, was the latest event marking the town’s yearlong birthday celebration. The farm was once home to John Meech.
Today, it is owned by Gail and Sandy Beecher, and includes a proper English garden, flower gardens, hens, a frog pond and original outbuildings for guests to explore.
